Sad news for Star Wars fans: Actor Richard LeParmentier has died at the age of 66. While you may not recognize his name, you’ll certain remember his contribution to the movie. LeParmentier played Imperial Admiral Motti, a man who imprudently chose to ridicule Lord Vader in front of his council:
“Don’t try to frighten us with your sorcerer’s ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebel’s hidden fort…”
To which Vader responded with a force choke and this instantly quotable line:
“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”
This scene brought LeParmentier immortality in the hearts of fans everywhere, and it apparently meant a lot to him and his family. Check out the statement issued by LeParmentier’s loved ones:
“He absolutely loved traveling the world and meeting his friends and fellow Stars Wars fans, whose tributes have given us all the best lines in this message,” LeParmentier’s family said in a statement.
“He was no respecter of convention, except comic conventions,” said Rhiannon, Stephanie, and Tyrone LeParmentier.
“Every time we find someone’s lack of faith disturbing, we’ll think of him,” they said.
