Sure, you’re a Star Wars fan, but are you willing to be married by a Jedi minister? Better question: Is your betrothed willing? The Jedi Church is growing by leaps and bounds, and they’re starting to ordain their own ministers. While the philosophy of The Force has many real world sources – Taoism being one of the most obvious – many people just aren’t ready to accept the Jedi religion as a legitimate spiritual practice. Why not, though? All religions feature stories that might seem unlikely or completely unbelievable to outsiders, and almost all of them were highly controversial when they first started out. It seems to me that if someone wants to practice the Jedi way as a spiritual path then that’s no less reasonable than any other personal religious practice. It’s none of my business, either way. Young lovers, if a Jedi wedding is your thing then I say go for it, and may the Force be with you.
