He is the most iconic villain of cinema history. From the moment he stepped from his Star Destroyer onto the Corellian corvette transporting Princess Leia, he has captivated movie audiences—in theaters and home theaters alike.
With the release of Star Wars: The Complete Vader, fans of the black-caped Dark Lord of the Sith get a definitive look at his history, myth, and cultural significance. But it goes beyond that. It captures his appearances in film, comic books, and television, as well as features new interviews and photographs from the Lucasfilm Archives.
I showed my friend a copy of Star Wars: The Complete Vader and we started talking about the films. He is currently watching the new Blu-ray releases with his family, his two daughters—a seven year old and a four year old—getting their first viewings of both movie trilogies. They will be watching Episode V this weekend.
It got us talking though. Right now, Episode III is his oldest daughter’s favorite movie. She said her favorite scene is Darth Vader and Obi Wan on the banks of the lava river. Her father disagreed, saying his favorite scene is Darth Vader Force-choking Admiral Conan Antonio Motti in Episode IV. For me, I love the scene where Darth Vader verbally antagonizes Luke Skywalker at the end of Episode VI, drawing Luke from the shadows into the Dark Side.
We had to agree to disagree. So I thought I would ask you, Star Wars lovers all:
What movie contains your favorite scene and which scene is it?
